Web Hosting Canada is buying Domain Name Registrar Sibername
Sibername, an Ottawa-based domain name registrar, and Cloud service providerwas acquired by Web hosting Canada (WHC). The financial terms of this acquisition were not disclosed.
Sibername was founded in 2001 and is an ICANN accredited registrar. As a provider of domain name services, Sibername is particularly active in Canada, where it offers .CA Domain Name Backordering Services known as To Be Released (TBR) domains.
"With this acquisition, WHC will not only significantly increase its customers, employees and managed domains, but also create value for its existing customers and services thanks to Sibername's domain-centric technology stack and its expertise in reordering .CA domains", said WHC Emil Falcon, Founder and CEO of Web Hosting Canada.
Web Hosting Canada will do it all SibernameExisting hosting and domain name contracts, the TBR domain backordering platform and ICANN accreditation. The two brands will operate independently of each other in the short term. However, the teams and service offerings will gradually be integrated to leverage the best technology and improve the overall efficiency of the customer service and operations teams.
